Giggs’s contract was extended by one year and will expire in 2009, this is surprising looking at his recent performance.

But what I found admiring is the fact that Ryan Giggs has played all his football on the grounds of Old Trafford and have stayed at the club for over 20 years.  Contrary to the trend of moving clubs at the show of a cheque and where loyalty is something of the past, Giggs have showed that he believed in the red devils for so long and Sir Alex have rewarded him with an extention on his contract.

Arguably Giggs’s finest moment was against Arsenal n 1999 at Villa Park in the FA Cup semi-final.  It was a moment of brilliance that left all the Arsenal played stranded while Giggs waltzed pass all of them to smashe the ball apss Seaman into the back of the net.  This goal gave Manchester United their victory and secured them a place in that years final.

What would the fans give to see Giggs play like that again and score a goal in those circumstances.   It is likely that we wil not see much of the man as the new kids on the block try to establish themselves in the team.  We will all be waiting just hoping to see Giggs in action again on his beloved ground.  He will be missed so much when he is gone.  He must have a huge effect on the youngster calming them and directing their emotions that he might be a catalyst that someone is looking for.

Some people might condemn Sir Alex for sextending his contract, but I say well done.

I must admit to having been calling for Sir Alex to drop Giggs in recent weeks as his performances have been below par, although in his defence the team as a whole wasn’t on fire.

Now they are all starting to find their form Ryan has been improving wiht it and against Kiev in midweek he was superb and grabbed two assists.

Well done Fergie, even if Giggs only plays a few times next season.

Ryan Giggs has beaten the all time record with the most caps for Man United. How long can he go on for and how long will he go on for? I think one more season and he’l hang up his boots.
