Today on grand slam Sunday, United hosted Liverpool and over at The Bridge, Chelsea hosted the Gunners.
Ferdinand and Van der Sar returned to the United starting eleven, and Sir Alex decided to play with 3 players down the center of the midfield, with Carrick playing a defensive midfielder position. This should have been an easy game for United, or at least that’s what Sir Alex thought. He had no choice with Foster, but started O’Shea, Park, and Giggs. And had Ronaldo playing up top with Rooney. UEFA paired up the final 8 teams today and United drew Roma, again. Now  
United prepare to take on Roma for the 5th and 6th time in 12 months. Ironically Manchester United was in the same situation this time last year. They were paired with Roma in the Champions League quarter finals, a classic victory for United and an embarrassing defeat for Roma. (Read More…)

Sir Alex hails English Football

“I think the Premier League is the strongest in Europe,” Sir Alex told MUTV. “For a spell it was the Spanish league – I remember about seven or eight years ago they had three teams in the semi-finals and Spanish football was really strong, but I think the English game has now reached that level.”

Is the Premier League the best league in the world?
