Ronaldo wins PFA player of the year, again!
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, better known as Cristiano Ronaldo. Became only the second player in history to win this award two consecutive times. Ironically, he will play against the only other player to do this on Tuesday, Thierry Henry.
Ronaldo has scored 38 goals so far. That’s only one less then Henry, when he won the award in the 03-04 season.
“I feel very happy. When you work all season to play good, to do something for the team, to do your contribution for the team and then at the end of the season the PFA give you this award, it is a great moment, it is an honor, a pleasure,” Ronaldo said.
“It is a great motivation to carry on like that, to work more and get better.
“I feel very good but it is not just my award, my team-mates have helped me a lot this season.
“They give me good passes to score goals, and I score, but it is a good moment for me.”
Cesc Fabregas of Arsenal was awarded the young player of the year award.
To Arsenal fans: Don’t try to claim that award, it doesn’t count as a piece of silverware!
