How stupid was Nani’s red card against West Ham? Well, the mistake will cost Nani £60,000 ($120,000) according to The Sun. Not to mention, missing the final game of the season, and most important Sir Alex’s trust! I can almost guarantee Nani will not play in the Champions League semi-final because Sir Alex can not trust him.
I think it’s only fair that players get fined for such actions.
I agree that you cannot lose your cool on the pitch.
*BUT*
Nani was obviously kneed in the back after he was already on the ground needlessly (no pun intended 
). Then he got at least one, possibly two hands in his face (slapped?) before the incident was actually noticed and dealt with. There should be retroactive punishment handed out to players that instigate such altercations. Nani should not have allowed himself to react, but at the same time, he is not the only player at fault.
