For as arrogant as Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is, he admits signing Cristiano Ronaldo would be “almost impossible” even after reports in Spain confirmed a £100million bid! Calderon argues “We are talking about the best player in the world, who has won consecutive Premier League titles and could have won the Champions League as well by next week. If he is looking for the next challenge, then it can only come by leaving England and there could be no club better to go to after leaving Old Trafford than Real Madrid.”

Ronaldo is well aware of the price tag to obtain his services, and even with such an astronomical number Ronaldo told MUTV “I’m at the right club, playing with the right players and I learn things all the time,”

I’m glad to hear he isn’t interested in leaving United. You see far too many players willing to jump ship for more money…and ultimately ruining their careers.

The funny thing is, Jeff, is that Real seem to get the opposite out of their players… Superstars leaving for much less money than may be expected (save for Beckham, who got the world’s best retirement package, and in LA to boot). They get good talent, have a few years of shining success, become mediocre at best, and then clear the deck. It’d be downright stupid to join Real. They don’t progress careers. They take shining ones, get the same out of them for two/three years, and phase them out.

Real Madrid would be better off shopping in Italy. They’l buy 3 or 4 superstars for that price.
