After Portugal’s exit from Euro 08, and between the Ronaldo, Real Madrid saga. Cristiano underwent ankle surgery and was not expected to return until October. But since then Ronaldo has returned to training and Sir Alex is seriously considering naming him to his squad for Wednesdays Champions League clash against Villareal.

Rafael Benitez has finally got something to smile about after Liverpool beat Manchester United 2-1 to record his first win over the club’s arch rivals in his Anfield career thanks to an own goal from Wes Brown and Ryan Babel’s winner.

In Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier England dismantled a strong Croatian side. Wayne Rooney provided Theo Walcott with 2 superb balls which Theo converted and also netted a goal himself.
