Manchester United added the Carling Cup to their trophy room on Sunday night with a dreaded penalty shootout. Thanks in part to Ben Foster, the Man of the Match, who reportedly watched footage of Tottenhams spot kickers on his iPod just moments before stopping O’Hara’s penalty.

But now people are tipping Foster for greatness, and I have an issue with that, stop tipping footballers for greatness or awards after a single performance. Keep in mind Foster has been  with United for almost 4 years, and only made seven appearances! Let Foster show some consistency before claiming him Englands savior between the post.

Sir Alex waited almost a full hour before making a change to his less experienced United side. Anderson came on for Welbeck in the 56th minute followed by Vidic for O’Shea 20 minutes later.

Ronaldo nearly put a remarkable left footed shot in that would have saved us from the agonizing penalty shootout but was denied by the inside of the right post!

It was Andersons PK that would clinch the Carling Cup and lead to United opening yet another dozen crates of champagne!
