I’m speechless.
I knew his move was inevitable, especially after the Champions League defeat, but not so soon.
“Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of 80 million pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid,” the club said.
“At Cristiano’s request – who has again expressed his desire to leave – and after discussion with the player’s representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.
Matters are expected to be concluded by June 30.”
“The club expects to reach an agreement with the player in coming days,” Real said in a statement.
I understand it was time for him to leave. He won everything he could win in England.
Now its time to look ahead, who will United bring in to cover for Ronaldo, Ribery?
And what will happen with Tevez? Will he move to Man City?

Tags: Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Manchester United, Real Madrid
At least one of the following: Silva, Robben, Sneijder, Schweinsteiger, Ronaldinho, Young, Lennon, Modric, Valencia, Ribery
And i’ll play on the other wing!
Nice choices, I think Robben would be the most realistic. United could probably get him pretty cheap and he has proven himself in the Premier League.
I really like Ribery and Schweinsteiger but I don’t think they would move to England.
I cant believe it. I am more shocked than Beckham leaving. I was walking around in a daze last week. – I just turned on the news and heard of Ronaldo. I was more concerned that Tevez would leave.
I just wish he could somehow have stayed with us. For just one more year. — Last year he was injured. I just wish someone could injure him this year by kicking him in the groin or almost breaking his leg.
If he could stay for one more year so we could win that record 4th League Championship. We’ll finish in the ‘Top 4′ but we will be back to Also-Rans in Europe. Regular sem-finalist and finalists in our history for the first time ever.
If we’d kept Beckham for just one more year I definitley think we would have reached the European Cup Final in 2004.
Only Real have taken over our place as Also-Rans in Europe. Real have now gone out at the first knock-out round so many times consecutively. Like Man Utd did before 2006/07. — The last time they didnt was when they beat us in 2003. The 4-3 Beckham game.
It was incredible that we reached 3 semis and 2 finals in a row.
Like last time we won the League 3 times in a row. In 2001=02 we sold our best players like Stam and Sheringham and Cole, etc. Yorke hardly featured.
Beckham gone in a year. A year after signing a new contract in 2002.
After him we were never really in the Championshiop race for 4 years. In the middle years of the decade I thought we were back to being a cup side. Unable to compete with the unbeaten Arsenal and Chelsea on 90 odd points.
Without Ronaldo we wouldnt have won anything in 2007-08; and probably not the league this year. — He’s won the last 2 titles on his own. And got us to
2 European finals in a row. — Nearly 90pts per season. — 90 odd goals in 3 seasons.
I dont understand why we keep selling our best players to the Also-Rans of Europe. First Beckham. Second Van Nisterooy. Now Ronaldo. – I dont want to understand.
