Lionel Messi is the first player mentioned because he is the most dangerous. After being sidelined for five weeks due to a thigh injury, Messi is expected to play Wednesday. Messi played the final 45 minutes in Barcelona’s draw to Espanyol this weekend but Messi’s impact was undeniable. Barcelona had 9 scoring opportunities in the 2nd half when Messi was playing and only 4 in the 1st half when Messi was not present.The 20 year old has scored 6 goals in 7 games for the Catalan giants in Champions League competition. He is lightning fast and could do some serious damage if he’s not contained.

Samuel Eto’o, unlike Henry United are not as familiar with the African striker. He is very powerful and fast, not as strong as Drogba but definitely more technique. He is Barcelona’s top scorer in La Liga with 14 goals.

Iniesta and Xavi, Individually not so threatening but together they are deadly. This Spanish duo work unbelievably well together and are the “heart” of Barcelona. They play center mids, one slightly left and the other slightly right, usually every attack goes through them, hence they are the “heart” of the team.
