Ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup Final versus Chelsea, I thought it might be fun to create a lineup of my own. For your review:


Van der Sar, Gabriel Heinze, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, Cristiano Ronaldo, Chris Eagles, Wayne Rooney.

Substitutes: John O’Shea, Alan Smith, Tomasz Kuszczak, Wes Brown, Darren Fletcher.

In the event we don’t need Kuszczak as a keeper, perhaps we can use him as a striker – a la Mr. Mourinho. ;)

What we’ll most likely see is Alan Smith in place of Chris Eagles. But I think Sir Alex might be wise to insert the more active (and MUCH hungrier) Eagles into the lineup. Eagles has something to prove – that he belongs in the starting lineup and to stay with the first team. He’s already proven he can play (at least as well as Smith), and Sir Alex has lauded him with kudos for his performances.
