Federico Macheda, the name heard around the world, after the 17 year-old Italian netted a crucial goal in the closing minutes of United’s Sunday match against Aston Villa.

United were extremely lucky on Sunday to walk away with all three points. United’s defense was absolutely shocking. But I guess you cant expect much from a back line that consisted of Neville, Evens, and O’Shea. Obviously Sir Alex didn’t have many options, being decimated with injuries and suspensions.

Nani might as well have had an acorns shirt on, turning over the ball over almost every time he had it, and putting in useless crosses. Sir Alex was right to pull him when he did and that’s what makes him the best manager in the history of British football. Most managers would not have pulled a player like Nani for an inexperienced teenager, but Sir Alex did and it paid off big.

United will have most of their “big guns” back for Tuesdays clash against FC Porto in the Champions League and it will be interesting to see if Macheda makes the bench for the match.
