It seems Gerard Pique has run out of patience at Old Trafford. After joining Manchester United at only 17-years-old in the summer of 2004 from Spanish giant Barcelona, Pique was loaned to Real Zaragoza for a season. Since then, Pique has struggled to earn a spot on Sir Alex’s first team. He only made 9 Premier League appearances during the 07-08 season with United. Which is strange considering United’s run of injuries in the back.
We didn’t see a whole lot of Pique, but I think the kid has potential. If he were considering a move anywhere other than Barcelona, I would tell him to be patient, defenders hit their prime at a later age. But Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world, and considering Pique’s current situation at United, he would be stupid not to go.

It’s understandable to want to get on the pitch, but seriously, who does he think he’s better than? Rio or Vidic? Thats the spot where he’s going to play, so that’s the question… Who should Pique replace?
Neither.
He needs to bide his time and just make the best of the situation. The dynamic duo have proven that they will both take a lot of knocks throughout the season and that there will be playing time for a backup. He needs to concentrate on learning, get better and beat out Brown for that role.
