Manchester United’s defender, Rio Ferdinand, was suspended for 3 matches due to violent conduct. But after being found guilty for purposely striking Craig Fagan during United’s 4-0 win over Hull City he was then banned for 4. He was still able to play in the Carling Cup Final during an appeal.

Manchester United have broken the record set by Chelsea for consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League, 11 matches without conceding a single goal, 762 minutes to be exact.

Diego Armando Maradona is visiting clubs around England to meet with some of his key players. Although Maradona was there to meet with Carlos Tevez, he was received with great enthusiasm by the rest of the squad.

United offer Rio Ferdinand a pay deal that places him alongside Cristiano Ronaldo as the clubs highest paid players, earning £120,000-a week ($240,000). Which means if you combine Rio Ferdinand and Cristiano Ronaldos monthly income, roughly $1.9 million. They could pay for the entire Chivas USA (MLS) annual player salaries, roughly 1.9 million.

Manchester United vs. Middlesbrough
United had to do without Vidic, who was out with a knee injury.
Scholes and Carrick take the center mid positions. Ronaldo and Giggs take the wings. This was Giggs 750th appearance for United, just 9 shy of Sir Bobby Charltons record.
