Like all of you , I couldn’t be more disappointed in Manchester United’s performance on Wednesday. Yes, Barcelona played better football yesterday but with some minor adjustments in Uniteds line-up, Barcelona would never have gained control of the match the way they did.

Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been named FIFA World Player of the Year at a ceremony held by world football’s governing body.
Barcelona’s Argentine forward Lionel Messi was second and Liverpool’s Spanish striker Fernando Torres third.

Ronaldo deserved the award, and he deserves the FIFA Player of the Year award too! Many argue that Messi should have won the Ballon d’ Or. No way, remember Messi was out for 6 very important weeks last year, after tearing a thigh muscle during a Champions League match.

Manchester United winger has been crowned FIFPro World Footballer of the Year. Cristiano Ronaldo ended Brazil’s dominance over this award and is expected to do so with many of the others.

With all this talk about “Who the best player in the world is,” football supporters, analysts, and even professional players continue to debate. Earlier this week Chelsea’s Joe Cole voiced his opinion claiming “Messi showed in the semi-final that he is the top man.” I think Joe is just a little jealous.

United started with a pretty solid line up Evra, Brown, Ferdinand, and Hargreaves in the back. Park, Carrick, Scholes, Nani in the middle and Ronaldo, Tevez up top.
Barcelona started with Zambrotta, Puyol, Milito, Abidal,in the back. Toure Deco Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, in the middle and Eto’o up top
