Manchester United are about to take a calculated risk by appealing the fourth game of Rio Ferdinand’s 4 game ban. Initially Rio was banned for 3 games for his violent conduct in the recent game against Hull City, which was extended to 4 because of the “frivolous” nature of the appeal. Rio could be fit to play in Wednesdays Champions League match. Rio limped off the field in the 70th minute of Sundays match against Middlesbrough.
