Claiming they will place a bid for Cristiano Ronaldo in January

Al-Fahim told Arabian Business magazine that Manchester City will be the biggest club in the world “Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious,”
“Real Madrid were estimating his value at $160 million but for a player like that, to actually get him, will cost a lot more, I would think $240 million (£134.3m).
“But why not? We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United.”

Sorry to burst your bubble Mr. Al-Fahim It takes more than money to become the biggest club in the world! Cristiano would never, not in a million years, wear a Manchester City shirt. Man City got lucky with Robinho and it still makes me sick to imagine him in a baby blue le coq shirt. If Cristiano leaves United, he would only leave for a Real Madrid or AC Milan. Teams with prestige and history.

Why? Well if you haven’t heard Real Madrid have done everything in their power to lure Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United even offering a deal worth £63million plus Robinho. Other players mentioned were Sneijder and Sergio Ramos.

“Neither Robinho or myself like that Real Madrid are prepared to use him as part of an exchange in their bid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo,” Ribeiro told Globo Esporte. “We do not understand this attitude and we want them to begin to value Robinho because they are not at the moment.”

“Robinho is as good if not better than Cristiano Ronaldo. The difference is that Ronaldo reached the Champions League final and Robinho did not, but if he had and won the trophy too, then he would be considered on the same level.”

How ironic, in an attempt to obtain the most talented, Madrid could lose their most talented!

Not just a good choice, but an excellent choice. The 27-year-old has proven himself in the English Premier League after two good seasons with Tottenham. So good in fact that Tottenham have slapped a £30 million price tag on the striker.

For £30 million United can buy Robinho for £28.4 million, which is what Chelsea have reportedly offered the Brazilian. Berbatov is worth £15 million, he isn’t going to score 25+ goals in a season. And he isn’t as marketable as say, Robinho. It’s too big a risk for United, how are they going to turn a profit? If United pay more then £20 million for Berbatov I will be disappointed.

But really would Ronaldo reveal this life altering and earth rattling secret to a friend? I don’t think so but this is what the friend had to say “Ronaldo has made his mind up now and feels it is just time to wait before he announces what he will do – which is to go to Madrid.”

But can you really blame Ronaldo? He is earning £120,000 a week! Real Madrid is offering him more than DOUBLE, some where in the £300,000 a week range!!! If someone offered you double your current salary, and a chance to make history would you turn it down??

There are also rumors to include Robinho in the transfer for Cristiano! Robinho is an excellent player but he might be too fragile for the Premier League. I would love to get Sergio Ramos, who has revealed an interest to play at Old Trafford!
