“I think Sepp Blatter is in danger, or has reached a point where he is being mocked within the game,” Ferguson said in an interview with GQ Magazine.

“Whether he’s getting too old, I don’t know. But these things happen to people in power. Look at some of the despots in Africa. From a position of great power, he has uttered so many ridiculous statements that he is in danger of seriously damaging his credibility.

Sir Alex obviously talking about Blatter’s comments on Ronaldo’s summer saga, when he compared Ronaldo’s situation to that of a slave

“When he came out with that stuff it created a furore and rightly so, the year after the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of slavery.”

I completely agree with Sir Alex. Unfortunately Blatter was recently “re-elected” for another four years on May 31 2007. Even though only 66 of 207 FIFA members nominated him, reinforcing the claims of corruption surrounding the current FIFA president.

With all this talk about “Who the best player in the world is,” football supporters, analysts, and even professional players continue to debate. Earlier this week Chelsea’s Joe Cole voiced his opinion claiming “Messi showed in the semi-final that he is the top man.” I think Joe is just a little jealous. (Read More…)

Who was the better player? Ronaldo or Messi? That was the question every football aficionado was asking. Both players were and still are in contention to be named the FIFA World Footballer of the Year. I’m not here to answer who has been the better player this year, at least not yet.  (I’ll do that at a more appropriate time) My answer simply reflects who was the better player in this series, The Champions League Semi-Final.
