Manchester United striker has repeatedly expressed how brilliant he feels Carlos Tevez is. He is also one of the most active in the “Sign Tevez Permanently” campaign.
This is what the players had to say to Manutd.com after the game:
Cristiano Ronaldo
We showed this season that we are the best team in Europe and in England and it’s a great feeling. Next season we will try to do the same. I feel very proud. It means everything to me - it is the happiest day of my life.
Nemanja Vidic
The game against Manchester City [which marked the 50th anniversary of the Munich air crash] was very disappointing and we still remember that. But I think we made up for it in Moscow and by winning the league and gave the fans what they wanted. (Read More…)
Last game of the season. 13th place Wigan will host 1st place United Sunday May 11th. United are in the Champions League Final and are coming from a 4-1 thrashing of West Ham. United is on a great run, and they will gain an unbelievable amount of momentum for the Champions League Final by clinching the Premier League Title on Sunday.
The good news is Cristiano looks like he is back in form, and Vidic is set to return.
But not all is well, Nani is suspended and Rooney is not 100% but no need to panic United are 2-0-0 since losing Rooney to a hip injury.
Wayne Rooney will be fit for the Champions League Final on May 21st , but will not start for United on Sunday when they play their last match of the season! At best, Rooney will be on the bench
This is what Sir Alex had to say “You have to make the right decision, no matter what game it is or what squad you’ve got. You can’t pick players if they’re not fit and that’s a key issue. That’s why we have a medical department, that’s why we have five physiotherapists at this club. That’s why we place a lot of importance on our medical staff. They do their job properly and the players won’t play unless they’re 100 per cent.”
NermanjaVidic, on the other hand, looks fit and could very well start on Sunday. “I’m very hopeful Vidic will be fit for Sunday,” added Sir Alex. “Obviously the next two training sessions [Friday and Saturday] are very important for him. But he’s much, much better, clear medically, so hopefully I can get him for Sunday.
Tune in Sunday May 11th at 17:00 BST for the Player of the Year Awards on MUTV or MUTV online live from Old Trafford.
Nike’s new ad is pretty awesome, check it out and see if you can name all cameos! I counted 11!
Wayne Rooney is out for the remainder of the season. That’s what British newspaper The Sun claims. The hip injury he sustained at the Camp Nou and forced him out of Tuesday’s win over Barcelona will definitely keep him out of Saturday’s match with West Ham and almost certainly see him sit out the final league game of the season, away to Wigan.
But the 22-year-old England striker should be fit for the Champions League final on May 21.
Wayne Rooney, Patrice Evra, and Nemanja Vidic should be fit for Saturdays match at Old Trafford against 10th place West Ham.
Patrice should definitely be ready, “Patrice got a real bang on the head…” “…but I’m sure he’ll be all right for Saturday.” Sir Alex told MUTV
Sir Alex was also confident about Rooney “Wayne has got a big chance. He’ll be all right for Saturday.”
But Sir Alex was a bit more skeptical when asked about the Serbian defender “Vidic may be okay too, but that’s in the doctor’s hands.”
Is the young, short tempered, bad boy from Liverpool ready to lead The Three Lions? “He is a leader, he is a good example on the pitch. We need to give him a bit more time to get some more experience and mature a bit.” says Fabio Capello “I am undecided who will be captain for the next game. But I do believe Rooney could one day be captain.”
Manchester United vs. Arsenal
This was such an important game and all the pressure was on Manchester United, Arsenal had nothing to lose since they were out of Champions and they were expected to lose. (Read More…)
